Constructing the reading experience through directorial practice: a multi-part series on reading experiences

Abstract

Исследование рассматривает различные аспекты читательского опыта, включая лингвистические, визуальные и пространственные элементы. В ходе исследования, учитывая форму и контекст процесса чтения, были выделены отдельные практики чтений. Особое внимание уделено адаптации текста в различных медиа, созданию нарратива. В работе подчеркивается, что проектирование книги включает в себя разработку не только отдельных элементов издания, но и общего сценария взаимодействия читателя с книгой. При этом особенность проектирования книги заключается в создании целостного временного и пространственного ландшафта, который может быть сравним с режиссерской практикой. Проектная часть описывает процесс создания серии печатных изданий, где ключевую роль играют особенности отдельных практик. Исследование предлагает новые подходы и методики, обогащающие традиционный дизайн книг.

The research explores various aspects of the reading experience, including linguistic, visual, and spatial elements. By considering the form and context of the reading process, distinct reading practices were identified. Particular attention is paid to the adaptation of text across different media and the creation of narrative. The study emphasizes that book design involves not only the development of individual publication elements but also the overall scenario of the reader's interaction with the book. A unique feature of book design is the creation of a cohesive temporal and spatial landscape, comparable to directorial practices. The project section describes the process of creating a series of printed editions, where the characteristics of specific practices play a key role. The research proposes new approaches and methodologies that enrich traditional book design.
