Philosophy of nature and the syncretism of traditions in Konstantin Balmont’s lyric poetry

Abstract

В диссертации анализируются мотивы философии природы в поэтике природно-комического мира К. Д. Бальмонта и присущий ему синкретизм традиций. Целью является рассмотрение малоизученной проблемы –– соотношения мифопоэтических мотивов, связанных с философией даосизма в восточной философии и понятием Логоса в европейской традиции на основе компаративного, мотивного и мифопоэтического анализа в сборниках стихов Бальмонта «Будем как солнце» (1903), «Только любовь» (1903) и «Литургия красоты» (1905). Искания в области мифологии, религиозной философии и эзотерики способствовали формированию синкретического художественного мышления поэта, определившего взаимосвязь мотивов и образов восточной и западной традиций в контексте русской литературы Серебряного века.

The dissertation analyses the motifs of nature philosophy in the poetics of K. D. Balmont's natural-comic world and the syncretism of traditions inherent in it. The aim is to consider an understudied problem –– the correlation of mythopoetic motifs, concerned with the philosophy of Taoism in the Eastern philosophy and the conception of Logos in the European tradition, based on comparative, motive and mythopoetic analysis in the collections of Balmont's lyric poetry «Be like the Sun» (1903), «Only Love» (1903) and «Liturgy of Beauty» (1905). The exploration of mythology, religious philosophy and theories of esotericism promoted the formation of syncretic artistic thinking of the poet, which defined interrelation of motives and images of eastern and western traditions in a context of Russian literature of the Silver Century.
