Hesitation phenomena in oral translation

Abstract

Данная выпускная квалификационная работа посвящена исследованию различных типов хезитации, возникающих в синхронном переводе с русского языка на немецкий и с немецкого на русский. Её цель - проанализировать и сравнить хезитационные явления в переводе на родной и иностранный языки, а также определить причины их возникновения. После подробного обзора терминов, определения спонтанной речи, классификации хезитационных явлений, определения синхронного перевода и его особенностей, описываются различные модели синхронного перевода и анализируются виды хезитаций в теории и на практике на примере материалов видеоархива «Deutsche Woche» и подготовленных транскриптов. Затем проводится анализ переводов и выявляются различные причины возникновения хезитаций. Проведенное исследование, его результаты и выводы вносят вклад в изучение феномена синхронного перевода.

The Project Preparation is devoted to the study of different types of hesitation in simultaneous interpreting from Russian into German and from German into Russian. The aim of the thesis is to analyse and compare delay phenomena in simultaneous interpreting into the native and foreign languages and to determine the causes of their occurrence. After a detailed overview of the terms, definitions of spontaneous speech, classification of delay phenomena, definition of simultaneous interpreting and its special features, various models of simultaneous interpreting are described and the types of hesitation explained in theory are analysed in practice on the basis of a video archive and transcripts produced. Then the translations are worked through and the various reasons for the occurrence of hesitations are identified. The research conducted, its results and conclusions contribute to the study of the phenomenon of simultaneous interpreting.
