The Development of International Financial Centres: Peculiarities of Russia and China

Abstract

Выпускная квалификационная работа "Развитие международных финансовых центров: особенности России и Китая" посвящена категории "международные финансовые центры" на развивающихся рынках. Автор анализирует различные подходы к определению этого феномена глобальных финансов, исследует историческую основу, структурирует наиболее популярные классификации и способы количественной и качественной оценки, а также предлагает свой собственный подход к оценке международных финансовых центров в России и Китае, которые имеют много специфических особенностей и общих черт с другими центрами на развивающихся рынках. Затем исследователь составиил путеводитель по российским и китайским центрам, используя местные правовые нормы, исторические предпосылки, статистику городов и подход в соответствии с целями устойчивого развития к финансовому сектору, сравнил стратегии развития основных городов выбранных стран: Москвы и Шанхая - и выявил ключевые элементы успешной политики. Наконец, автор предпринял попытку сделать прогноз тенденций на будущее в обоих центрах и рекомендовал следующие шаги, основываясь на совершенных ошибках, лучших практиках и текущей экономической обстановки.

The qualification research named "The Development of International Financial Centres: Peculiarities of Russia and China" is devoted to the category of "International Financial Centres" on the emerging markets. The author analyses different approaches for the definition of this phenomenon of the global finance, investigates the historical background, structures most popular classifications and way of qualitative and quantitative assessments and his own approach for the evaluation of the International Financial Centres in Russia and China those have many specific peculiarities and commons with other centres on the emerging markets. Then the researcher made a guide on the Russian and Chinese centres using local legal norms, historical backgrounds, cities' statistics and SDG's approach to financial sectors, compared the development strategy of main cities of the nations: Moscow and Shanghai and found out the key elements successful policy. Finally, the author made an attempt to forecast the future of both centres and recommended next steps based on previously made mistakes, best practices and current economical environment.
