The image of modern Russia in the political consciousness of European youth

Abstract

В данном исследовании изучается вопрос восприятия и формирования образа современной России в политическом сознании европейской молодежи. За 2022 год Россия и ее образ стали центральными в европейском информационном поле. При этом в России подобный исследований после февраля 2022 года не проводилось. Таким образом, данное исследование может помочь выявить нынешний образ страны в сознании иностранной студенческой молодежи, а также дать материал для будущих исследований данной темы. Целью исследования является выявление основных черт образа современной России в политическом сознании европейской молодежи. В качестве методологии использовался постбихевиоралистский подход. Сбор данных осуществлялся с помощью нестандартизированных глубинных интервью, а также онлайн- анкетирования. Эмпирическую базу исследования составили 20 глубинных интервью с респондентами из 11 стран, отобранных методом снежного кома, а также 83 анкеты онлайн-опроса респондентов из 16 стран Европы. Структура данной работы состоит из введения, двух глав, заключения и списка источников литературы. В первой главе рассматриваются различные подходы к понятию «образ» и «имидж» государства и выводится разница между данными понятиями. Также анализируются различные подходы к понятию «политического сознания» и выделяется обобщённое определение данному термину. Более того рассматривается особенность восприятия политической реальности европейской молодежью. Во второй главе анализируются данные интервью и онлайн-анкетирования и выводится образ современной России, а также факторы на него влияющее

This study examines the perception and formation of the image of modern Russia in the political consciousness of European youth. In 2022, Russia and its image became central to the European information field. At the same time, in Russia, the question of the image of the country abroad, and especially among European youth, after February 2022, nobody was engaged. Thus, this study may help to identify the current image of the country in the minds of foreign student youth, as well as to provide material for future research of this topic. The aim of the study is to identify the main features of the image of modern Russia in the political consciousness of European youth. The methodology used was post-behavioral. This collection was carried out through non-standard in-depth interviews, as well as online questionnaires. 20 respondents from 11 countries gave interviews, and 83 respondents from 16 European countries completed the questionnaire. The results were analyzed by analyzing one-dimensional distributions. The structure of this work consists of an introduction, two chapters, a conclusion and a list of sources of literature. The first chapter discusses various approaches to the concept of «image» and «image» of the state and deduces the difference between these concepts. Also analyzed different approaches to the concept of «political consciousness» and highlighted the generalized definition of this term. Moreover, the peculiarity of the perception of the political reality of European youth is considered. The second chapter analyses the data of the interview and online survey and derives the image of modern Russia, as well as the factors influencing it.
