The Concept of Utopia in the Political Philosophy of Paul Ricoeur

Abstract

Актуальность выпускной квалификационной работы обусловлена происходящими в последние годы политико-социальными потрясениями, имеющими идеологическое измерение. В научном дискурсе наблюдаются дискуссии о современной идеологии, перспективах её развития и влиянии на свободу индивида, что способствует обращению к концепции утопии, связь идеологии с которой раскрыта в работах Поля Рикёра в рамках перспективной, на взгляд автора, методологии феноменологической герменевтики. Объектом исследования является политическая философия Поля Рикёра, а предметом – концепция утопии в политической философии Поля Рикёра. Целью данной работы является изучение внутренних особенностей и системных характеристик концепции утопии в политической философии Поля Рикёра. Исследовательские задачи были реализованы в отдельных параграфах трёх глав работы. Первая глава посвящена анализу биографического контекста развития концепции утопии, а также её связи с традицией. Во второй главе рассматривается диалектическая связи между идеологией и утопией, а также внутренние для концепции утопии характеристики в рамках основного первоисточника, «Лекций по идеологии и утопии». В третьей главе изучены связи концепции утопии с остальным корпусом работ Поля Рикёра, в частности рассмотрены соотношение утопии с герменевтической теорией интерпретации, эпистемологический смысл утопии и политико-этические характеристики концепции утопии. Результаты исследования показали, что концепция утопии Поля Рикёра является частным примером разрабатываемой философом теории социального воображения, дополняющим концепцию идеологии. Также концепция утопии связывает поздние разработки Рикёра в области герменевтики и политико-философскую рефлексию его ранних работ, затрагивая при этом основной вопрос свободы индивида. В то же время, концепция утопии вместе с концепцией идеологии могут представлять интерес для развития политической эпистемологии в рамках герменевтической традиции. Данная работа представляет наиболее комплексный анализ концепции утопии в политической философии Поля Рикёра, открывая возможности для дальнейших, более специфичных исследований наследия французского философа. Сформулированные на основе полученных результатов выводы могут быть применены в рамках дискуссии о современном состоянии идеологии, а также для развития исследований политического сознания и утопических образов.

The relevance of the final qualification work is due to the political and social upheavals that have taken place in recent years, which have an ideological dimension. In the scientific discourse, there are discussions about modern ideology, the prospects for its development and the impact on the freedom of the individual, which contributes to the appeal to the concept of utopia, the connection of ideology with which is revealed in the works of Paul Ricoeur within the perspective, in the author's opinion, methodology of phenomenological hermeneutics. The object of the study is the political philosophy of Paul Ricoeur, and the subject is the concept of utopia in the political philosophy of Paul Ricoeur. The purpose of this work is to study the internal features and systemic characteristics of the concept of utopia in the political philosophy of Paul Ricoeur. Research tasks were implemented in separate paragraphs of three chapters of the work. The first chapter is devoted to the analysis of the biographical context of the development of the concept of utopia, as well as its connection with tradition. The second chapter examines the dialectical relationship between ideology and utopia, as well as the characteristics inherent in the concept of utopia within the framework of the main primary source, Lectures on Ideology and Utopia. In the third chapter, the connections of the concept of utopia with the rest of the body of Paul Ricoeur's works are studied, in particular, the relationship of utopia with the hermeneutic theory of interpretation, the epistemological meaning of utopia, and the political and ethical characteristics of the concept of utopia are considered. The results of the study showed that Paul Ricoeur's concept of utopia is a particular example of the theory of social imagination developed by the philosopher, which complements the concept of ideology. Also, the concept of utopia connects Ricoeur's later developments in the field of hermeneutics and the political and philosophical reflection of his early works, while touching upon the basic issue of individual freedom. At the same time, the concept of utopia, together with the concept of ideology, may be of interest for the development of political epistemology within the hermeneutic tradition. This work presents the most comprehensive analysis of the concept of utopia in the political philosophy of Paul Ricoeur, opening up opportunities for further, more specific studies of the legacy of the French philosopher. The conclusions formulated on the basis of the results obtained can be applied in the framework of the discussion about the current state of ideology, as well as for the development of studies of political consciousness and utopian images.
