| ru_RU |
dc.description.abstract | Abstract The aim of this study was to optimize the scheme of approach to the prevention of dental diseases in adolescents undergoing orthodontic treatment based on gender-associated microbiota of plaque composition. A survey of 12 girls and 12 boys was conducted, which showed that teenagers have basic knowledge of dental hygiene and nutrition, and the awareness of girls is higher than that of boys. However, in an effort to demonstrate socially approved behavior, they do not answer the questionnaire questions quite sincerely, especially girls. The values of the hygienic index OHI-S of girls vary from the lowest to the highest in the group. The values of the hygienic index OHI-S of young men are close to the average. The majority of adolescents undergoing orthodontic treatment have a large variety of the qualitative composition of bacteria in the plaque in the area of the braces and the predominance of Streptococcus microorganisms (70.0%), which indicates the state of normobiocenosis. Among the selected species, Granulicatella adiacensis is more often registered in girls (36.4% of cases) compared to boys (9.1% of cases). The results of metagenomic sequencing show higher values of detection of bacteria of the departments Firmicutes and Actinobacteriota and the genus Streptococcus in most boys compared with most girls. At the same time, the majority of young men have lower values of detection of bacteria of the departments Proteobacteria, Fusobacteriota and Bacteroidota. In addition, it was found that girls have a significant variation in the values of the detection of bacteria of several genera - Streptococcus, Corynebacterium and others, which most likely reflects the differences in hormonal status associated with the formation of the menstrual cycle. Gender-associated differences revealed as a result of a clinical and microbiological study of adolescents undergoing orthodontic treatment allowed us to offer a number of practical recommendations for the care of oral organs and orthodontic devices for adolescents. | en_GB |
