The motif of disability in the novels by South Korean writers: The cases of "My Beating Heart" (두근두근 내 인생) by Kim Ae-ran (b. 1980) and "Almond" (아몬드) by Sohn Won-pyung (b. 1979)

Abstract

Современная корейская литература приобретает все большую известность среди российских читателей. Это связано с популяризацией корейской культуры по всему миру, в том числе и в России. С каждым годом увеличивается количество переводимых на русский язык произведений корейских авторов. Обсуждение на страницах рассказов и романов универсальных и насущных проблем современного общества вызывает неподдельный интерес не только в Корее, но и за ее пределами. Актуальность настоящей работы обосновывается тем, что, несмотря на научный интерес и труды, посвященные вопросам творчества современных корейских писателей, тема ущербности в прозе современных авторов практически не освящалась. Объектом данного исследования являются романы южнокорейских писательниц Ким Эран «Мое бьющееся сердце» и Сон Вонпхён «Миндаль». Предметом же является мотив ущербности, отраженный в этих романах. Целью данной работы является выявление мотива ущербности на примере двух романов современных южнокорейских писательниц Ким Эран «Мое бьющееся сердце» и Сон Вонпхён «Миндаль». Этой целью определяются следующие задачи исследования: 1) Ознакомиться с текстами романов на корейском языке; 2) Выявить типы ущербности на примерах героев двух романов; 3) Рассмотреть, какие социальные проблемы стоят за ущербными персонажами; 4) Раскрыть смысл имен героев; 5) Изучить восприятие русскоязычной аудитории исследуемых романов. Новизна исследования заключается в том, что в отечественном корееведении впервые предпринимаются попытки на конкретном материале произведений Ким Эран и Сон Вонпхён выявить и проанализировать тему ущербности в романах «Я буду скучать» и «Миндаль» используя культурно-исторический метод, заключающийся в рассмотрении литературы как продукта общественной жизни, когда социальные проблемы раскрываются в художественном пространстве литературы. Работа содержит введение, три главы, заключение, список используемых источников и литературы, включающий 34 наименования. Объем работы составляет 72 страницы, в том числе 12 страниц приложения. Первая глава посвящена краткому изложению информации о писательницах, во второй главе автор приступает к рассмотрению романов. Третья глава посвящена выявлению мотива ущербности в романах Ким Эран «Мое бьющееся сердце» и Сон Вонпхён «Миндаль». Было выявлено, что в данных романах поднимается тема ущербности в физическом, психическом, моральном и социальном аспектах. Ущербность здесь проявляется во врожденных и приобретенных заболеваниях, в сложности социализации героев, во взаимоотношении личности и общества, в проблеме преступности. Южнокорейское общество в художественном мире Ким Эран и Сон Вонпхён предстает обществом, пока еще не готовым сосуществовать с героями, ущербными физически. Однако финальные сцены в романах все же транслируют идею маленькой, но все же надежды на то, что в дальнейшем внешняя ущербность перестанет быть преградой к тому, чтобы увидеть и распознать внутреннюю красоту души и цельность личности таких героев.

Modern Korean literature is gaining more and more popularity among Russian readers. This is due to the popularization of Korean culture around the world, including in Russia. Every year the number of works by Korean authors translated into Russian is increasing. The discussion on the pages of short stories and novels of the universal and pressing problems of modern society is of genuine interest not only in Korea, but also abroad. The relevance of this work is justified by the fact that, despite the scientific interest and works devoted to the issues of creativity of modern Korean writers, the topic of inferiority in the prose of modern authors was practically not consecrated. The object of this study is the novels of South Korean writers Kim Aeran "My brilliant life" and Sohn Wonpyung "Almond". The subject is the motive of inferiority, reflected in these novels. The purpose of this work is to identify the motive of inferiority on the example of two novels by contemporary South Korean writers Kim Aeran "My brilliant life" and Sohn Wonpyung "Almond". This goal defines the following research objectives: 1) Familiarize yourself with the texts of novels in Korean; 2) To identify the types of inferiority on the examples of the heroes of two novels; 3) Consider what social problems are behind the flawed characters; 4) Reveal the meaning of the names of the characters; 5) To study the perception of the Russian-speaking audience of the studied novels. The novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time in domestic Korean studies, attempts are made to identify and analyze the theme of inferiority in the novels “My brilliant life” and “Almond” using the specific material of the works of Kim Aeran and Song Wonpyung using the cultural-historical method, which consists in considering literature as a product public life, when social problems are revealed in the artistic space of literature. The work contains an introduction, three chapters, a conclusion, a list of used sources and literature, including 34 titles. The volume of work is 72 pages, including 12 pages of the appendix. The first chapter is devoted to a brief summary of information about the writers, in the second chapter the author proceeds to consider novels. The third chapter is devoted to identifying the motive of inferiority in the novels "My brilliant life" by Kim Aeran and "Almond" by Sohn Wonpyung. It was revealed that in these novels the theme of inferiority in the physical, mental, moral and social aspects is raised. Inferiority here is manifested in congenital and acquired diseases, in the complexity of the socialization of heroes, in the relationship between the individual and society, in the problem of crime. South Korean society in the art world of Kim Aeran and Sohn Wonpyung appears as a society that is not yet ready to coexist with physically handicapped characters. However, the final scenes in the novels still convey the idea of a small, but still hope that in the future external inferiority will cease to be an obstacle to seeing and recognizing the inner beauty of the soul and the integrity of the personality of such heroes.
