Issues in preservation and realisation of aesthetic potential of water landscapes in the context of urban development of coastal areas

Abstract

Актуальность темы обусловлена необходимостью сохранения и развития эстетических качеств городской среды в условиях динамичного градостроительного преобразования. Водные пейзажи – важнейший компонент эстетики города. От состояния водных пейзажей, возможности и условий их восприятия зависит образ всего города, сохранение его идентичности, культурной и исторической преемственности. В первой главе «Проблемы сохранения и реализации визуально- эстетического потенциала городских водных пейзажей» раскрывается значимость водных пейзажей как составляющих образа города, определены аспекты проблематики в современном градостроительном контексте, а также принципы и инструменты средового подхода. На основе анализа мирового опыта выявлены актуальные тенденции средового формирования водного фронта прибрежных территорий. Во второй главе «Основы средового подхода к проблеме сохранения, формирования и восприятия водных пейзажей Санкт-Петербурга» проанализированы история архитектурно-ландшафтного формирования водного фронта Санкт-Петербурга и эволюция эстетического образа водных пейзажей города в произведениях искусства, а также действующее законодательство в области охраны культурного наследия и водных ландшафтов Санкт-Петербурга. Отдельное внимание уделено опыту научной и творческой работы студентов СПбГУ в аспектах исследования. Выявлены актуальные проблемы в контексте градостроительного развития, разработана карта видового потенциала восприятия водных пейзажей дельты Невы. В третьей главе «Концепция формирования инфраструктуры водных пейзажей» представлены принципы и методы реализации эстетического потенциала водного фронта в условиях градостроительного развития, предложена дизайн-концепция средового преобразования водного фронта на примере Петровского острова. В том же методологическом и концептуальном контексте намечено совершенствованию береговых территорий дельты Невы, а также других объектов водной системы Санкт-Петербурга. Разработанные методы средового подхода к архитектурно-ландшафтному формированию прибрежных территорий во взаимодействии визуально-эстетических качеств водных пейзажей и условий их восприятия будут способствовать повышению эстетических качеств городского ландшафта, гармонизации архитектурного облика города, сохранению идентичности городских водных пейзажей, развитию прибрежных пространств, формированию комфортной, доступной, социально ориентированной прибрежной среды.

The relevance of the topic is due to the need to preserve and develop the aesthetic qualities of the urban environment in a dynamic urban transformation. Water landscapes are the most important component of the aesthetics of the city. The image of the whole city, the preservation of its identity, cultural and historical continuity depends on the state of the water landscapes, the possibility and conditions of their perception. The first chapter "Problems of preservation and realization of the visual and aesthetic potential of urban water landscapes" reveals the importance of water landscapes as components of the image of the city, identifies aspects of the problem in the modern urban context, as well as the principles and tools of the environmental approach. Based on the analysis of world experience, current trends in the environmental formation of the water front of coastal territories have been identified.

In the second chapter, "Fundamentals of the environmental approach to the problem of preservation, formation and perception of the water landscapes of St. Petersburg", the history of the architectural and landscape formation of the water front of St. Petersburg and the evolution of the aesthetic image of the city's water landscapes in works of art, as well as the current legislation in the field of protection of cultural heritage and water landscapes of St. Petersburg are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the experience of scientific and creative work of St. Petersburg State University students in the aspects of research. Actual problems in the context of urban development are identified, a map of the visual potential of the perception of the water landscapes of the Neva Delta is developed. In the third chapter, "The concept of the formation of the infrastructure of water landscapes", the principles and methods of realizing the aesthetic potential of the water front in the conditions of urban development are presented, the design concept of the environmental transformation of the water front is proposed on the example of Petrovsky Island. In the same methodological and conceptual context, it is planned to improve the coastal territories of the Neva Delta, as well as other objects of the St. Petersburg water system.

The developed methods of the environmental approach to the architectural and landscape formation of coastal territories in the interaction of the visual and aesthetic qualities of water landscapes and the conditions of their perception will contribute to improving the aesthetic qualities of the urban landscape, harmonizing the architectural appearance of the city, preserving the identity of urban water landscapes, the development of coastal spaces, the formation of a comfortable, accessible, socially oriented coastal environment.
