| ru_RU |
dc.description.abstract | One of promising semiconductor photocatalyst is a cheap and easily obtainable tin dioxide (SnO2) with a rutile tetragonal structure tolerant to substitution in its crystal lattice. In order to give photoluminescence properties and to shift photocatalysis to the visible region, the matrix is doped with lanthanides, among which terbium (Tb) stands out with its stable luminescence in the visible region and low cost. There is still no unambiguous opinion on which parameter is the most significant in the improvement of photocatalytic and photoluminescent properties. The influence of oxygen vacancies and structural defects is mentioned in the literature in that matter, but there is no quantification. Therefore, the aim of this work was to synthesize differently shaped Tb-SnO2 nanoparticles and to determine the relation between their morphological and structural parameters with photocatalytic activity and photoluminescent properties. Spherical nanoparticles were synthetized by coprecipitation method, hydrothermal treatment resulted in the formation of cubic shape nanoparticles. All samples were characterized by XRD, TEM, FTIR, XPS, Raman spectroscopy and SSA estimation. The band gap was calculated from absorption spectra. The position of dopant substitution was determined by quantum chemical method, the band structure and the density of states were calculated. The photocatalytic activity was studied for the colored pollutant MB and the colorless pollutant OTC. The efficiency and depth of photodegradation were evaluated by spectrophotometry, chromatography and mass spectrometry. The exponential dependence of the degradation factor on the vacancy/defect ratio was found, which allows us to adjust the photocatalytic behaviour of nanoparticles by changing their structural parameters. Three peaks at 414, 438 nm (corresponding to oxygen vacancy luminescence) and 544 nm (corresponding to Tb luminescence) were observed in the photoluminescence spectra. For the first two peaks an exponential dependence of the luminescence intensity on the vacancy/defect ratio was detected and for the third one, the dependence on the number of oxygen vacancies in the SnO2 structure. | en_GB |
