Political technologies in the 2017 presidential election campaign in the Republic of Korea

Abstract

В настоящей работе рассматриваются политические технологии, примененные основными кандидатами на пост президента Республики Корея во время президентской избирательной кампании 2017 года. Анализ политических технологий, используемых в предвыборных гонках в начале XXI века, помогает лучше понять южнокорейское общество, его приоритеты в определенный период времени, принципы функционирования избирательного процесса в стране и итоги выборов. Цель данной работы — выявление специфики политических технологий Республики Корея, а также определение их влияния на итоги президентской избирательной кампании 2017 года. В ходе исследования был рассмотрен исторический контекст данных выборов, затронуты принципы их проведения, а также проанализированы примененные основными кандидатами избирательные технологии и их эффективность. Работа основана на анализе агитационных материалов главных кандидатов, интернет-публикаций и материалов СМИ, формирующих имидж политического деятеля в период кампании 2017 года, а также на изучении и анализе южнокорейских статистических данных, посвященных ходу избирательного процесса. В ходе работы была установлена высокая степень влияния политических технологий на поведение избирателей в Республике Корея, а также выявлены технологии, которые отражали особенности корейской культуры.

This paper examines the political technologies used by the main candidates for the presidency of the Republic of Korea during the 2017 presidential election campaign. An analysis of the political technologies used in the election races at the beginning of the 21st century helps to better understand South Korean society, its priorities in a certain period of time, the principles of the functioning of the electoral process in the country and the election results. The purpose of this work is to identify the specifics of the political technologies of the Republic of Korea, as well as to determine their impact on the results of the 2017 presidential election campaign. During the study, the historical context of these elections was considered, the principles of their conduct were touched upon, and the electoral technologies used by the main candidates and their effectiveness were analyzed. The work is based on the analysis of campaign materials of the main candidates, Internet publications and media materials that form the image of a political figure during the 2017 campaign, as well as on the study and analysis of South Korean statistical data on the course of the electoral process. In the course of the work, a high degree of influence of political technologies on the behaviour of voters in the Republic of Korea was revealed, and technologies that reflected the characteristics of Korean culture were identified.
