Costume design project for a film based on the novel `Lord Edgware Dies` by Agatha Christie

Abstract

Данный дипломный проект - это серия эскизов по роману Агаты Кристи "Убийство лорда Эджвера". Действие романа разворачивается в Лондоне в середине 1930-х годов. В основе сюжета лежит убийство семейного тирана лорда Эджвера и театральной актрисы Карлотта Адамс. Расследование ведет частный детектив Эркюль Пуаро и его верный помощник капитан Гастингс, от лица которого ведется повествование. Для 13 эскизов мной выбраны наиболее выразительные и значимые сцены произведения, разработаны образы всех героев, продуманы их жесты, мимика, костюмы. Эскизы решены в светло-серой гамме, выполнены акварелью и цветными карандашами на бумаге.

The graduate thesis presented here is composed of multiple sketches based on Agatha Christie's novel "Lord Edgware dies". The setting of the novel is 1930's London. The central plot deals with the murders of Lord Edgware and the actress Carlotta Adams. The investigation is lead by private detective Hercule Poirot and his loyal side-kick Captain Hastings, who also narrated the story. For the 13 sketches, i've chosen the more expressive and meaningful scenes from the novel, developed visual-representation for each of the heroes,thought up their costumes. The sketches are done in hues of light grey, using water colors and colored pencils, on paper.
