The problem of cultural assimilation as illustrated by the first wave of Russian emigration in Italy

Abstract

Феномен эмиграции и феномен ассимиляции — два процесса, которые в качестве массового явления возникают в основном в периоды политических волнений. Каждый из обоих процессов подразумевает под собой другой, и каждый оказывает огромное влияние на взаимодействующие культуры. Цель работы заключается в том, чтобы построить целостную картину русской послереволюционной эмиграции первой волны в Италии. Анализ данного явления позволяет проследить процесс ассимиляции культур, в конкретном случае ассимиляцию русских граждан в итальянской культуре, и то, каким образом осуществлялась интеграция различных социальных слоев эмигрантов в итальянский народ. В исследовании были выявлены основные этапы адаптации русской диаспоры в итальянской культурной среде, изменения в их мировоззрении, а также в их отношении к России и Италии. Обращение к данной тематике всегда является актуальным, так как это позволяет понимать причины зарождения эмиграции и ассимиляции культур, а также прогнозировать эти события в будущем и использовать полученные выводы, которые были сделаны при анализе уже произошедших событий, для успешных взаимоотношений культур в перспективе.

The phenomenon of emigration and the phenomenon of assimilation - two processes that as a mass phenomena occur mainly during periods of political unrest. Each of the two processes are closely connected, and each has a huge impact on the interaction of cultures. The goal of work is to build a complete picture of the post-revolutionary Russian emigration of the first wave in Italy. The analysis of this phenomenon allows us to trace the process of cultural assimilation, in this case the assimilation of Russian citizens in the Italian culture, and the way in which the integration of different social strata of immigrants in the Italian culture. The study identified the main stages of adaptation of the Russian diaspora in the Italian cultural environment, changes in their outlook and in their relation to Russia and Italy. Appeal to this topic is always relevant, because it allows to understand the reasons of emigration and assimilation of cultures as well as to forecast these events in the future and use the findings that have been made in the analysis of the events that have already occurred, to establish successful relationship in the future perspective.
