Islam in the contemporary European socio-political discourse

Abstract

Актуальность работы обусловлена существованием в Западной Европе целого комплекса проблем, порожденных резким увеличением численности мусульман в регионе, и связанных с процессами их интеграции в европейское общество. Особый интерес для исследования представляет проблема отношения «коренных» европейцев к возрастанию роли ислама в европейском публичном пространстве. В первой главе работы анализируются направления европейского ислама и их отношение к современной западной цивилизации. Во второй главе рассматривается политика мультикультурализма, ее основные идеи и трудности их реализации. В третьей главе осуществляется анализ такого феномена, как «исламофобия», разбираются причины ее появления и формы существования. Работа состоит из введения, трех глав, заключения, списка используемых источников и литературы. В работе использовано 98 источников и 56 исследований. Общий объем работы – 100 страниц.

This graduation work is devoted to the problem of Islam in the contemporary European socio-political discourse. The bachelor thesis examines the current situation in Western Europe where the number of Muslims is increasing and integration isn’t quite successful. Much attention is given to the problem of the place of Islam in the European public space. Firstly, the work clarifies particularities of Muslim movements and organization in Western Europe, both liberal as radical. Secondly, bachelor thesis discusses the problem of multiculturalism as a concept and policy. It also examines the weaknesses of this approach, like a voluntary isolation of Diaspora communities. Thirdly, the author dwells on the phenomena of Islamophobia, analyzing its reasons and forms of manifestations. In conclusion the author would like to stress that currents situation is dynamically changing and the significance of the problem is difficult to overestimate. The work consists of introduction, three chapters, conclusion, list of used sources and literature. The study used 98 sources and 56 studies. The total amount of work – 100 pages.
