De-ideologization of art in Italy after Mussolini's rule: The case of cinema

Abstract

Представленная квалификационная работа посвящена исследованию проблемы деидеологизации искусства Италии после правления Бенито Муссолини на примере кинематографа. Рассмотрение феномена неореализма как реакции на идеологизацию художественной культуры «черного двадцатилетия» является актуальной проблемой в европейской культурной традиции 20-21 веков, так как он зачастую рассматривается только в историческом контексте без принятия во внимание культурного аспекта. Выбранный подход позволяет провести сравнительный анализ кинопроизведений тоталитарной эпохи на фоне киноработ неореалистических авторов для вычленения их общих черт и специфических различий.

The present graduation thesis deals with the problem of de-ideologization of art in Italy after Benito Mussolini's rule as in the case of cinema. Consideration of the phenomenon of neo-realism as a response to the ideologization of the "twenty dark years" culture is a topical problem related to the European cultural tradition of XX-XXI centuries because it is often seen only in its historical context without taking into account the cultural aspect. The selected approach makes it possible to carry out comparative analysis of films made during the totalitarian period against films made by neo-realist authors in order to determine their similarities and specific differences.
