The issue of translating medical terms from Japanese into Russian

Abstract

В процессе глобализации укрепляется международное сотрудничество в различных областях, в том числе в сфере медицины. Этот процесс сопряжен с необходимостью привлекать к работе квалифицированных переводчиков, разбирающихся в особенностях сложной медицинской терминологии, а также в коммуникации между врачом и пациентом. Аспекты медицинского перевода являются актуальными темами лингвистических и социолингвистических исследований. Возникают задачи выявить языковые тенденции, свойственные медицинской терминологии японского языка, выработать подходы к классификации терминов для составления терминологических словарей, разработать универсальные методы перевода текстов медицинской тематики. Целью работы является выявление специфики медицинской терминологии японского языка. Объектом исследования работы служит лексикология современного японского языка. Предмет исследования — японская медицинская терминология. В теоретической части исследования рассмотрены подходы к составлению словарей, дается обзор широко используемых на данных момент медицинских и общих словарей. Во второй части исследования был рассмотрен лексический состав японского языка, была сопоставлена медицинская терминология японского и русского языков. Был также приведен обзор языковой ситуации в Японии в области медицинской коммуникации, позволивший составить впечатление о проблемах, с которыми сталкиваются японцы в общении с врачами.

In the process of globalization, international cooperation in various fields, including the field of medicine, is being developed. This process involves the need to engage qualified translators who understand the features of complex medical terminology, as well as the specifics of the communication between a doctor and a patient. Aspects of medical translation are relevant topics of linguistic and sociolinguistic research. In these areas of study there is need to identify the linguistic trends taking place in the medical terminology of the Japanese language and to develop approaches to the classification of terms for the compilation of terminological dictionaries as well as to introduce universal methods for translating medical texts. The aim of the study is to identify the specifics of the medical terminology of the Japanese language. The object of the research is the lexicology of the modern Japanese language. The subject of the study is Japanese medical terminology. The theoretical part of the study summarizes the approaches to compiling dictionaries are considered, and includes an overview of medical and general dictionaries that are widely used at the moment/ In the second part of the study the lexical composition of the Japanese language was examined, and the medical terminology of the Japanese language was compared to that of Russian. The research also includes an overview of the linguistic situation in Japan in the field of medical communication, which gives an insight to the problems that Japanese people face in communicating with doctors.
