The influence of the relationship between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova on the Transnistrian conflict settlement

Abstract

В работе рассматривается роль Европейского союза в урегулировании приднестровского конфликта с точки зрения развития отношений ЕС с Республикой Молдова. Приднестровский конфликт уже более четверти века находится в «замороженном» состоянии. Стороны конфликта (Кишинев и Тирасполь) до сих пор не выработали общей политико-правовой позиции в отношении друг друга. Существует потребность в поиске альтернативных путей приднестровского урегулирования. Политика Европейского союза может способствовать примирению Кишинева и Тирасполя. Тема приднестровского конфликта привлекает многих отечественных и зарубежных исследователей. Однако рассмотрение данной проблемы через призму участия Европейского союза очень редко встречается в научных трудах. Таким образом, материал работы будет ценным вкладом в исследования по указанной тематике.

The master's thesis considers the role of the European Union in the Transnistrian conflict settlement in terms of the development of EU relations with the Republic of Moldova. The Transnistrian conflict has been in a "frozen" state for more than a quarter of a century. The conflict parties (Chisinau and Tiraspol) have not yet developed a common political and legal position on each other. There is a need to find alternative ways of Transnistrian settlement. The policy of the European Union could contribute to the reconciliation of Chisinau and Tiraspol. The topic of the Transnistrian conflict attracts many russian and foreign researchers. However, consideration of this issue through the prism of European Union participation is very rare in scientific works. Thus, the material of the master's thesis will be a valuable contribution to the research on this topic.
