Impact of the Armenian diaspora on the foreign policy of the United States of America

Abstract

Актуальность исследования обьясняется, с одной стороны, ростом интереса в современных условиях к проблеме деятельности армянской диаспоры на международной арене, с другой - усиливающимся влиянием армянского этнического лобби, которое уступает только израильскому,на внешнюю политику США. В работе используя системный и логические подходы, автор рассматривает специфику участия и влияния армянской диаспоры во внешней политике США, в международных организациях, отражает занимаемую ею последовательную принципиальную позицию в решении важнейших вопросов и проблем государства на международной арене. Изучая цели, которая армянская диаспора преследует во внешней политике США, акцент сделан на анализе влияния лобби на проблему признания геноцида армян американским истеблишментом и изучении усилий диаспоры для поддержки Армении в проблеме Нагорного-Карабаха. Материал изложен в хронологической последовательности, которая обеспечила возможность осуществить полный и обьективный анализ политических событий, наложивших свой отпечаток на характер и особенности усилий армянской диаспоры в США и на международной арене.

The topicality of research is explained by several aspects. On the one hand, it is growing interest in modern conditions to the problem of Armenian Diaspora's activities in the international arena, and on the other hand - the increasing influence of the Armenian ethnic lobby on US foreign policy after Israel one. In this paper, using a systematic and logical approach, the author examines the specifics of participation and influence of the Armenian diaspora in US foreign policy, international organizations, reflects Armenian consistent principled position on critical issues and problems of the state in the international arena. Studying the goal that Armenian Diaspora aims in US foreign policy, the author conducts the analysis of lobby influence on the Armenian Genocide recognition by the American establishment and study of diaspora's efforts to support Armenia in Nagorno-Karabakh issue. The structure of thesis is presented in chronological order, which provided an opportunity to carry out full and objective analysis of the political events that influenced on the nature and features of the Armenian diaspora efforts in the US and international arena.
