History and myth in political philosophy of Platon

Abstract

В работе исследуются предпосылки появления мифа в политической философии Платона, основные аспекты платоновского мифа, такие как его создание, передача, восприятие и др. Автор делает вывод о возможности определять отдельные фрагменты текста как «миф» с опорой на исследование Люка Бриссона, однако, не признает данный подход однозначным: приемлем также контекстуальный подход, объясняющий противоречия, которые возникают при попытке объединять мифы на основании общих критериев. Междисциплинарное исследование учитывает различие мифов по спектру их функций от легитимации режима и конструирования исторического дискурса, необходимого для формирования коллективных воспоминаний, до объяснения сложных философских конструктов при помощи упрощенной формы. Функции рассматриваются в связи с политической и этической теориями Платона, уделяется внимание фальсификации исторического дискурса на примере «мифа об Атлантиде», что актуализирует вопросы, связанные с допустимостью использования «благородной лжи» и манипуляции историческими фактами.

The research analyzes the background of the myth in Plato's political philosophy, the main aspects of the Platonic myth such as its creation, transmission, perception, etc. The author concludes that it is possible to define detached fragments of the text as a "myth" based on the research of Luc Brisson, but this approach is not recognized as unambiguous: a contextual approach is also acceptable, explaining the contradictions that arise when trying to combine myths based on common criteria. The interdisciplinary research takes into account the difference between myths in the spectrum of their functions, from legitimizing the regime and constructing the historical discourse necessary for the formation of collective memories, to explaining complex philosophical constructs using a simplified form. The functions are considered in connection with the political and ethical theories of Plato, attention is paid to the falsification of historical discourse on the example of the "myth of Atlantis", which actualizes issues related to the permissibility of the use of "noble lie" and manipulation of historical facts.
