Social capital as a factor of the sustainability of the Kingdom of Sweden’s social system in the late 20th and the early 21st centuries

Abstract

Данная работа исследует роль социального капитала как фактора, обеспечивающего устойчивость шведской социальной системы. Цель исследования – доказать его значимость в этом процессе. Королевство Швеция уже долгое время находится в фокусе внимания мировых лидеров и средств массовой информации, которые стремятся дискредитировать действующую в нём модель государственного регулирования и функционирования общества, ввиду чего возникает необходимость выяснить масштаб кризиса в стране и то, каким образом она достигает возврата к стабильному состоянию, чем и определяется актуальность исследования. В результате изучения различных подходов к социальному капиталу, автор сформулировал собственное определение данной категории, а также выделил её главные элементы: социальное доверие, нормы и ценности, взаимодействие между представителями общества. В начале работы автор выдвигает гипотезу о том, что шведское государство и гражданское общество сами выработали такие правила и ценности, которые позволили сформировать развитый социальный капитал в обществе, что приводит к стабильности шведской социальной системы и позволяет ей противостоять различным кризисам, таким как миграционный кризис 2015 года и напряжённое состояние внутри страны ввиду пандемии. Данное предположение было подтверждено в ходе исследования.

This paper examines the role of social capital as a factor of the sustainability of the Kingdom of Sweden’s social system. The aim of the work is to prove its significance in such a process. The Kingdom of Sweden has long been in the focus of attention of world leaders and the media, who seek to discredit the model of state regulation and functioning of society within it, which makes it necessary to find out the scale of the crisis in the country, and how it returns to a stable state, what determines the rationale of the research topic. As a result of studying various approaches to social capital, the author formulated her own definition of this category as well as highlighted its key elements: social trust, norms, and values, the interaction between representatives of society. At the beginning of the work, the author hypothesizes that the Swedish government and civil society themselves developed such rules and values that facilitated the formation of developed social capital in the society, which led to the stability of the Kingdom of Sweden’s social system and allowed it to meet various crises, such as the European migrant crisis in 2015 and tensions within the country due to the pandemic. This assumption has been confirmed during the study.
