Translation precedents of transformations in the texts of the international relations discourse

Abstract

Аннотация на выпускную квалификационную работу магистра. Тема: «Переводческие прецеденты трансформаций в текстах дискурса международных отношений». Работа содержит 102 страницы и включает введение, 2 главы – теоретическую и исследовательскую, выводы по главам, заключение и список использованной литературы. Для написания выпускной квалификационной работы использовалось 83 литературных источника. Во введении обосновывается актуальность работы, формулируются цель, объект, предмет, задачи, а также методы исследования. Цель исследования состоит в выявлении основных прецедентов переводческих трансформаций, обеспечивающих эффективный и эквивалентный перевод текстов дискурса международных отношений. Объектом исследования являются переводческие трансформации в текстах дискурса международных отношений. Предмет исследования – прецеденты переводческих трансформаций в официальных устных переводах речей Генерального секретаря НАТО Йенса Столтенберга. В первой главе представлены теоретические основы изучения переводческих трансформаций в текстах дискурса международных отношений, рассматриваются понятия «перевод», «эквивалентность», «адекватность» и «дискурс», а также представлен обзор проблемы классификации переводческих трансформаций. Во второй главе анализируются речи Генерального секретаря НАТО и их официальные переводы. Полученная в ходе анализа информация синтезируется для объяснения особенностей выявленных в ходе анализа переводческих трансформаций. В выводах по главам кратко представлены основные результаты анализа теоретического и практического материала. В заключении подводятся итоги исследования.

Abstract of a master`s thesis. Title: “The cases of translation transformations in the texts of international relations discourse”. The thesis consists of 102 pages and includes an introduction, 2 chapters – literature review and the analysis of texts of international relations discourse, summaries of both the chapters, a conclusion and a bibliography. 83 sources were used for the research. The introduction provides rationale for the research, research aim, its subject and focus as well as the research objectives and methods. The research aim is to explore major translation transformations that ensure efficient and equivalent translation or interpretation of texts in international relations discourse. The research subject is the cases of translation transformations in the texts of international relations discourse. The research focuses on the cases of translation transformations in the official consecutive interpretations of speeches by NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg. The first chapter provides a review of the theoretical framework for the translation transformations in the texts of international relations discourse study. The following notions are explored: “translation”, “translation equivalence”, “translation adequacy” and “discourse”. Furthermore, the problem of translation transformations classification is considered. The second chapter provides the case study of the official speeches by NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, and their official consecutive interpretations. The analysis serves as the basis for the description and explanation of translation transformation features. The Chapter summaries briefly represent the results of literature review and the analysis of translation transformations in the texts of international relations discourse. The conclusion presents an overview of the research.
