Bulgaria in the system of international relations in the Balkans in the 21st century

Abstract

В XXI веке мир стремительно меняется. Болгария, как одна из старейших стран Европы, является одним из ключевых политических, культурных и экономических факторов на Балканском полуострове. Этот регион всегда занимал важное место в исторических событиях Старого континента. В этой научно-исследовательской работы анализируется политика, проводимая Софией, как важной частью налаживания регионального сотрудничества, превратившись в носитель и проводник демократических западных ценностей для государств, которые еще не интегрировались в региональные организации с наибольшим влиянием на Балканах - Европейский Союз и НАТО. В то же время, раскрывается гонка за экономический рост и устойчивое развитие с другими странами, уже являющийся полноправными членами глобальных альянсов, которая стимулирует правительства поддерживать конкурентоспособность в различных государственных секторов и структур. Установлены конкретные сферы и направления, связывающие Болгарию с каждой из остальных двенадцати стран, частично или полностью находящихся на территории полуострова.

In the XXI century, the world is changing rapidly. Bulgaria, as one of the oldest countries in Europe, is one of the key political, cultural and economic factors in the Balkans. This region has always had an important place in the historical events of the Old Continent. This research examines the policies pursued by Sofia, as an important part of establishing regional cooperation, becoming a carrier and conduit of democratic Western values for countries that have not yet integrated into the regional organizations with the greatest influence in the Balkans - the European Union and NATO. At the same time, a race for economic growth and sustainable development is emerging with other countries, which are already full members of global alliances, which encourages governments to remain competitive in various public sectors and structures. Specific areas and directions connecting Bulgaria with each of the other twelve countries, partially or completely located on the territory of the peninsula, have been identified.
