The atmospheric circulation features influence on the repeatability of extreme meteorological phenomena in the Western Arctic

Abstract

Для Западного сектора Арктики в холодный (октябрь–март) и тёплый (апрель–сентябрь) сезоны в периоды первого потепления (1920-1950 гг.), похолодания (1950–1985 гг.) и современного потепления (1985–2020 гг.) проведено исследование временной изменчивости характера атмосферной циркуляции с использованием классификации форм циркуляции атмосферы Гирса-Вангенгейма. Также получена оценка взаимосвязи изменения структуры режима атмосферной циркуляции со структурой климатической изменчивости и исследована связь особенностей циркуляционного режима с повторяемостью опасных явлений погоды.

The study of the temporal variability of atmospheric circulation features was carried out according to the classification of atmospheric circulation forms by Girs-Wangenheim for the Western Arctic for cold (October – March) and warm (April – September) seasons during periods of the Early Arctic warming (1920-1950), Contemporary Arctic warming (1985–2020), and a Cold period between them (1950–1985). Also, an estimate of the interaction between changes in the structure of the atmospheric circulation regime and the structure of climate variability was obtained. In addition, the relationship between the features of the atmospheric circulation regime and the repeatability of extreme meteorological phenomena was analysed.
