Capitalisation of physicality in fitness blogs on Instagram

Abstract

Работа посвящена изучению специфики капитализации телесности фитнес-блогеров на материале контент-анализа публикаций в социальной сети Instagram и полуструктурированных интервью. Объектом исследования являются фитнес-блоги русскоязычного сегмента социальной сети Instagram. Предметом исследования стали особенности и способы капитализации телесности в фитнес-блогах русскоязычного сегмента социальной сети Instagram. Целью исследования выступает изучение особенностей физической, эротической и эстетической капитализации телесности фитнес-блогеров в сети Instagram. Дипломная работа состоит из введения, двух глав, заключения, списка литературы и приложений. В первой главе рассматриваются теоретические основания изучения тела в контексте цифрового общества, анализируются формы телесного капитала в русле концепции П. Бурдье и его последователей. Во вторую главу входит программа эмпирического исследования, анализ данных, полученных в ходе контент-анализа и полуструктурированных интервью. Проведенное исследование позволило сделать выводы о том, что важнейшими элементами страниц фитнес-блогеров являются демонстрация и капитализация телесности. При составлении визуального контента блогеры репрезентуют свою телесность в форме физического и эстетического капитала. Капитализация телесности происходит за счет ее аккумуляции и конвертации в символический, социальный и экономический капитал.

The work is devoted to the study of the specifics of capitalization of fitness bloggers' physicality based on the content analysis of publications on the social network Instagram and semi-structured interviews. The object of the study is fitness blogs of the Russian-language segment of the social network Instagram. The subject of the study was the features and ways of capitalization of physicality in the fitness blogs of the Russian-language segment of the social network Instagram. The aim of the study is to study the features of physical, erotic and aesthetic capitalization of the physicality of fitness bloggers on the Instagram network. The work consists of an introduction, two chapters, a conclusion, a list of references and appendices. The first chapter examines the theoretical foundations of the study of the body in the context of digital society, analyzes the forms of body capital in line with the concept of P. Bourdieu and his followers. The second chapter includes a program of empirical research, analysis of data obtained in the course of content analysis and semi-structured interviews. The conducted research allowed us to draw conclusions that the most important elements of the pages of fitness bloggers are the demonstration and capitalization of physicality. When composing visual content, bloggers represent their physicality in the form of physical and aesthetic capital. The capitalization of corporeality occurs due to its accumulation and conversion into symbolic, social and economic capital.
