The Turkish-German cooperation in the field of environmental protection

Abstract

Данная диссертационная работа посвящена исследованию актуальной проблемы турецко-германского сотрудничества в сфере защиты окружающей среды. Автор обращает внимание на то, что данный вопрос недостаточно изучен и требует большего внимания. В работе выделены основные направления экологического сотрудничества ФРГ и Турции, а также сделано прогноз о перспективе членства Турции в ЕС.

The following thesis focuses on the major spheres of environmental cooperation between Germany and Turkey. Firstly, it explains the theoretical framework and historical background of international policies regarding current global environmental issues. Secondly, it analyses the history of German-Turkish affairs. This includes the integration problems of Turkish immigrants and their influence on the relationship between Germany and Turkey. Finally, the paper argues that although relations with Turkey are important both for Germany and the EU, still neither of them is ready for the Turkey's full membership in the Union.
