Software implementation of an algorithm for solving the graph coloring problem

Abstract

В данной работе исследуется алгоритм Олемского И.В. для раскраски графа. В начале основной части приводится подробное описание этого алгоритма, а также трёх вариантов алгоритма, основанного на переборе максимальных независимых множеств. После чего проводится сравнительный анализ программной реализации описанных алгоритмов. По результатам которого делаются выводы о скорости роста вычислительного времени алгоритма Олемского И.В. при увеличении размерности задачи. На основании выводов даются рекомендации по применению алгоритма Олемского И.В.

In this work we investigate the Olemskoy I.V.’s algorithm for coloring a graph. At the beginning of the main part, a detailed description of this algorithm is given, as well as description of three variants of the algorithm based on the enumeration of maximal independent sets. After that we perform a comparative analysis of the software implementation of the described algorithms. After analysing the results of comparison we make conclusions about the growth rate of the computational time of the Olemsky I.V.’s algorithm caused by increasing the problem dimension. Based on this findings we give recommendations on the application of the Olemskoy I.V.’s algorithm.
