Ordovician graptolites from the Zhdanova River basin (the eastern Taymyr)

Abstract

Настоящая работа посвящена исследованию коллекции граптолитов ордовика, собранной геологами Всероссийского научно-исследовательского геологического института им. А.П. Карпинского (ВСЕГЕИ) в бассейне реки Жданова при проведении геологосъёмочных работ на Восточном Таймыре в 2016 г. Установлено присутствие 34 видов граптолитов и приведено палеонтологическое описание всех этих видов. Выявлены комплексы граптолитов и определена их принадлежность к стандартным граптолитовым зонам региональной стратиграфической шкалы Таймыра. Доказано, что разрез ордовикских отложений в бассейне р. Жданова охватывает интервал от верхов тремадокского яруса (зона Triograptus canadensis/Aletograptus hyperboreus) до верхней части катийского (зона Appendispinograptus supernus), причем наличие осадочных пород в интервале от тремадока до нижней части дарривила (зоны Oncograptus / Isograptus) в разрезе выявлено впервые. Также впервые достоверно определено положение подошвы зоны Diplograptus foliaceus. Кроме того, расширена данная предшественниками фаунистическая характеристика зоны Nemagraptus gracilis.

The manuscript is devoted to the study of the Ordovician graptolite collection gathered by geologists of the A.P. Karpinsky Russian Geological Research Institute (VSEGEI) in the Zhdanovа River basin during geological mapping in the East Taimyr in 2016. The presence of 34 graptolite species was detected and a paleontological description of all these species was given. The graptolite complexes were identified and their belonging to the standard graptolite zones of the Taimyr regional stratigraphic scheme was determined. It was proved that the section of the Ordovician deposits in the Zhdanova River basin comprise the interval from the upper part of the Tremadocian Stage (Triograptus canadensis / Aletograptus hyperboreus Zone) to the lower part of the Katian Stage (Appendispinograptus supernus), while the presence of the Tremadocian ‒ lower Darriwilian (up to Oncograptus / Isograptus Zone) sedimentary rocks in the section was revealed for the first time. The position of the base of the Diplograptus foliaceus Zone was also reliably determined for the first time. In addition, the faunal characteristic of the Nemagraptus gracilis Zone detected by predecessors has been expanded.
