The Activities of Transport Aviation to Supply Leningrad during the Siege

Abstract

В ВКР рассмотрено снабжение осажденного Ленинграда различными грузами в период с сентября по декабрь 1941 г. с помощью авиации. В данный период, силами московского и северного отрядов особого назначения, происходила транспортировка продовольствия, оборудования, вооружения, приборов воздушным путем. В рамках исследования изучен процесс налаживания работы самолетов Гражданского Воздушного Флота СССР на линии Хвойная-Ленинград, места их базирования на большой земле и в блокированном городе. Отдельное место отведено рассмотрению состава авиационных групп, общей численности самолетов на линии по месяцам, а также статистике ремонтных и безвозвратных потерь. Опираясь на данные архивов Москвы и Санкт-Петербурга приведены многочисленные статистические сведения, затрагивающие весь процесс работы «воздушного моста». По материалам отчетов Гражданского Воздушного Флота, Особой северной авиационной группы и ленинградского аэропорта приведены обобщенные данные результатов деятельности транспортной авиации осенью 1941 г., в том числе по количеству и составу эвакуированных квалифицированных рабочих и гражданского населения из Ленинграда. Анализ обширной источниковой базы позволил выявить ежесуточный объем поставляемых в город грузов, сравнив их, в том числе, с общим количеством принятого продовольствия, оборудования, вооружения, приборов. Рассмотрены причины и последствия неожиданного закрытия налаженной авиационной линии и перебазирования самолетов типа «дуглас» на московское направление.

The research considers the supply of besieged Leningrad with various cargoes in the period from September to December 1941 with the help of aviation. During this period, the forces of the Moscow and Northern special forces, there was a transportation of food, equipment, weapons, devices by air. As part of the study, the process of establishing the work of aircraft Of the civil Air Fleet of the USSR on the line Coniferous-Leningrad, their locations on the mainland and in the blocked city was studied. A separate place is given to the consideration of the composition of aviation groups, the total number of aircraft on the line by month, as well as statistics of repair and irrevocable losses. Based on the data from the archives of Moscow and St. Petersburg, numerous statistical data are presented that affect the entire process of the "air bridge". Based on the reports of the Civil Air Fleet, the Special Northern aviation group and the Leningrad airport, generalized data on the results of transport aviation activities in the autumn of 1941, including the number and composition of evacuated skilled workers and the civilian population from Leningrad. The analysis of the extensive source base allowed us to identify the daily volume of goods delivered to the city, comparing them, including the total amount of food, equipment, weapons, and devices received. The reasons and consequences of the unexpected closure of the established air line and the relocation of Douglas-type aircraft to the Moscow direction are considered.
