| ru_RU |
dc.description.abstract | This study shows that almost every industry associated with mining and mineral processing contributes to noticeably increase the contribution of 222-Rn and its decay products to the natural background radiation (extraction of phosphates, uranium, iron ore etc.). We assessed the amount of uranium which is currently on the surface as a result of the extraction of iron ore and phosphates in the past hundred of years. After that, the amount of “additional” radium in the human environment was assessed. The results are as follows of iron ore and from the extraction of phosphates were obtained. In total, the extraction of these minerals increases the uranium concentration in the environment on ~ 4%. For more precise data it is necessary to conduct more research in this direction, concentrating on the exact area where these types of minerals are mined. | en_GB |
