The geochemistry of trace elements in freshwater mollusc shells from the rivers of the Southern Cisurals

Abstract

Проведено исследование карбонатных раковин современных перловиц, отобранных вдоль русла р. Белая и её притоков, для установления закономерностей между их изотопно-геохимическими характеристиками и петрографическим составом пород области питания рек Южноуральского региона, не анализировавшегося ранее. В ходе работы выполнены анализ геологии исследуемой территории, установлены минералого-химический и изотопный составы образцов раковин. В результате проведена оценка пригодности раковин перловиц для восстановления палеохарактеристик областей речного питания в данном регионе.

A study was made of carbonate shells of modern Unio mollusc, taken along the river Belaya and its tributaries, to establish the patterns between their isotope-geochemical characteristics and the petrographic composition of the rocks of the feeding area of ​​the rivers of the Southern Urals region, not previously analyzed. In the course of the work, the geology of the investigated area was analyzed, mineralogical-chemical and isotope compositions of shell samples were established. As a result, an assessment was made of the suitability of Unio shells to restore the paleocharacteristics of river feeding areas in the region.
