Compiling numerical geofiltration model of Vendian aquifer system in order to refine its recharge area

Abstract

Вендский водоносный комплекс – это крупнейший и стратегически важный водоносный комплекс Ленинградской области, эксплуатация и изучение которого ведётся на протяжении уже более 70 лет. Для количественного обоснования расположения его области питания использовалось численное геофильтрационное моделирование на базе открытого программного обеспечения Processing Modflow (PM5). В ходе исследования была составлена актуальная численная геофильтрационная модель вендского водоносного комплекса. С использованием этой модели была выделена основная область питания водоносного комплекса, а также проведено районирование внутри этой области. Впервые проведена количественная оценка объёмов питания вендского водоносного комплекса.

The Vendian aquifer system is the largest and strategically important aquifer system of the Leningrad region. The exploitation and study of the aquifer have been conducted for more than 70 years. For the quantitative determination of the location of its recharge area, numerical geofiltration modeling based on open-source software Processing Modflow (PM5) was used. The relevant numerical geofiltration model of the Vendian aquifer system was developed during the study. Using this model, the main recharge area of the aquifer system was identified, as well as zoning within this area was carried out. For the first time, the quantitative assessment of the recharge volume of the Vendian aquifer system was carried out.
