The Confessional Poetry of Anne Sexton: The Narrative of Personal Experience as a Search for Identity

В работе разбирается поэтическое наследие американской поэтессы 60-ых и 70-ых годов Энн Сэкстон, конкретно - ее первый поэтический сборник To Bedlam And Part Way Back. Энн Сэкстон традиционно помещается в канон феномена исповедальной поэзии, главными характеристиками которой являются нарративность, автобиографичность, исследование табуированных ранее личных проблемных зон. Исследовательской задачей становится рассмотрение того, каким образом исповедальная поэзия как модус текста работает с авторской идентичностью. Особое внимание уделяется поэтическим техникам репрезентации субъекта, конструированию образа “я” в контексте взаимодействия с внешними фигурами, литературным предпосылкам и процессу становления авторского голоса и саморепрезентации в исповедальной поэзии в диалоге с другими поэтическими традициями. Отдельной частью работы являются переводы поэтических текстов Сэкстон, на русский, не переводившиеся ранее.

This paper’s central subject is the poetic heritage of the American poetess of the 60's and 70's Ann Sexton, specifically her first poetic collection, “To Bedlam And Part Way Back.” Ann Sexton is traditionally placed in the canon of the phenomenon of confessional poetry, that is commonly described as narrative, autobiographical, exploring the previously tabooed personal problem areas. The research agenda is to examine how confessional poetry as a mode of text works with the author's identity. Particular attention is paid to the poetic techniques of the representation of the subject, the construction of the image of self in the context of interaction with external figures, literary prerequisites and the process of developing of the author's voice, and self-representation in confessional poetry placed in dialogue with other poetic traditions. A separate part of the work is the translation of the poetic texts of Sexton into Russian, which have previously not been translated.
