Philosophical Connotations of Van Gogh's Art in Western Historiography

Abstract

В работе рассматриваются коннотации искусства Ван Гога, представляющие альтернативную классической интерпретации и мифологии точку зрения. Охватить все важнейшие философские дискурсы и коннотации искусства, возникшие после смерти Ван Гога, не представляется возможным, потому рассматриваются только те авторы, которые сами касались вопроса Ван Гога в своих исследованиях и прямо или косвенно предлагали свой взгляд, свою методологию и свой вариант интерпретации. Такими исследователями являются рассматривавшие вопрос безумия немецкий философ и психиатр Карл Ясперс и французский философ и историк Мишель Фуко; обращающийся к классовому вопросу и близкий марксистской истории искусства американский теоретик Мейер Шапиро; одна из самых значимых представительниц феминистской теории искусства Гризельда Поллок; французский философ, радикальный теоретик искусства Жорж Батай, обращавшийся к вопросам иррационального и жертвенного; крупнейший немецкий философ XX века Мартин Хайдеггер, эссе которого стало отправной точкой известнейшего спора о «Башмаках» Ван Гога; создатель концепции деконструкции и также один из крупнейших философов конца XX века Жак Деррида.

In this paper, the connotations of Van Gogh's art representing an alternative to classical interpretation and mythology are considered. Covering all the major philosophical discourses and connotations of art that arose after Van Gogh's death is not possible, therefore the work deals with those authors who have themselves touched upon Van Gogh's question in their studies and who directly or indirectly offered their views, their methodology, and their own interpretation. Such investigators are the German philosopher and psychiatrist Karl Jaspers and the French philosopher and historian Michel Foucault who both have examined the question of insanity, American theorist Meyer Schapiro who is turning to the class question and is close to the Marxist art history, Griselda Pollock, one of the most significant representatives of the feminist theory of art, French philosopher, radical art theorist Georges Bataille who addressed the questions of the irrational and sacrificial, the major German philosopher of the twentieth century, Martin Heidegger, whose essay was the starting point of the famous dispute about Van Gogh's "Shoes", and the founder of the concept of deconstruction and also one of the greatest philosophers of the late XX century, Jacques Derrida.
