Street Art in the Context of Culture in the Late 20th - Early 21st Centuries

Abstract

В данной работе феномен уличного искусства рассматривается в контексте социокультурных и исторических процессов, происходивших в США, России, странах Западной Европы и Восточной Азии в конце 20 - начале 21 века на примере анализа творчества наиболее ярких представителей этого направления. Особое внимание уделяется трансформации техник стрит-арта, изменению его идейного содержания, а также всем тем предпосылкам, которые привели к формированию стрит-арта как самого доступного и демократичного направления в современном искусстве.

In this paper the phenomenon of street art is studied in the context of social, cultural and historical processes which took place in the USA, Russia and the countries of Western Europe and East Asia in the late 20th century - the beginning of 21st century. This research is based on the analysis of artworks of the most prominent representatives of this art movement. Special attention is paid to the transformation of the street art techniques, the change of its idea content, as well as to all those conditions which led to the formation of street art as the most accessible and democratic movement of the contemporary art.
