The focus of cognitive activity of students in various educational programmes

Abstract

АННОТАЦИЯ В дипломной работе исследовались особенности направленности познавательной деятельности у студентов Санкт-Петербургского государственного университета. Было опрошено 63 человека в возрасте от 19 до 22 лет. Испытуемым были предложены следующие методики: 1) Шкала потребности в познании (Cacioppo, Petty, Kao, 1984; русская версия): данная методика, составленная Д. Качиоппо и Р. Петти, позволяет выявить тенденцию индивида увлекаться мыслительным процессом и получать от этого удовольствие. 2) Анкета-опрос: с помощью данной анкеты проводился сбор мнений относительно качества образования, соотнесения уровня знаний с отметками за экзамены, индивидуальных особенностей процессов усвоения знаний. Анкета содержит как закрытые вопросы (например, относительно пола и возраста), так и открытые - позволяющие выразить свою позицию относительно предложенного вопроса. Были получены следующие результаты: 1. Существуют различия в направленности познавательной деятельности у студентов различных факультетов 2. Существует взаимосвязь между удовлетворенности обучением и уровнем познавательной мотивации.

ABSTRACT The graduation thesis studied the distinctive features of cognitive need between students from different faculties of Saint Petersburg State University. The sample consisted of 63 students at the age from 19 to 22. The students were asked to pass the following questionnaires: 1) «The Need for Cognition Scale» (Cacioppo, Petty, Kao, 1984; Russian version): This questionnaire made by D. Cacioppo and R. Petty allows to define the individual tendency for getting involved into the process of thinking and for being satisfied by this process. 2) «Survey questionnaire» - this questionnaire was applied for collecting opinions about the quality of education, correlating of the level of knowledge and grades for exams, individual assimilation of knowledge differences. The questionnaire contains as closed questions (for instance, about age), so open questions which allow to express one’s position regarding what is asked. The following statements were confirmed: 1) There exist differences in the need for cognition between students from different faculties. 2) There exists a connection between getting satisfaction from studying and the level of cognitive motivation.
