Abstract

Goal: to reveal the factors that create the gap between the management's strategic vision of innovation activities and its actual pattern in multinational manufacturing companies Related questions: 1 To reveal the possible innovation strategic visions and expectations related to innovation activity in multinational manufacturing companies; 2. To reveal the factors that affect innovative activity of multinational manufacturing companies. 3. To reveal the factors that oppose innovation activity of multinational manufacturing companies. Main outcomes: 1. The innovation activity of multinational manufacturing companies is mostly measured by the type of the innovation created and the level of novelty. This type of company is in majority of cases is characterized by the “continuous improvement” innovation pattern. This, consequently leads to the creation of the incremental innovations related to the organizational or process innovations. Commonly these types of innovations are not enough for the companies. 2. There is a plenty of factors that affect innovation activity of the companies, which are originated within a company as well as outside. The strength of the influence of the majority of these factors is based on knowledge management processes. The knowledge management processes determine innovation activity of the companies via the creation of new ideas, which are essential for innovation creation. 3. The factors that are not supported enough by knowledge management processes are the factors, that opposing innovation activity of multinational manufacturing companies.
