Problems of Spanish and English languages contact: Spanglish as political discourse

Abstract

Аннотация. Название Выпускной квалификационной работы на соискание степени магистра «Проблемы взаимодействия английского и испанского языков: Spanglish как политический дискурс». Объем дипломной работы составляет 73 страницы формата А4. Целью дипломного проекта является проведение исследования лингвистического, социального и культурного феномена Spanglish, представляющего собой яркий пример взаимодействия двух распространенных в мире языков, испанского и английского. Объектом исследования является изучение функционирование Spanglish в политическом дискурсе Соединенных Штатов Америки. Для проведения теоретического исследования применялись следующие основные методы: аналитический, метод сплошного отбора примеров, индуктивный, метод классификации примеров по различным критериям, дескриптивный, метод исследования монографических публикаций или статей, частично представлен метод контекстуально-исторического анализа. Актуальность данной темы состоит в анализе современного состояния Spanglish в политическом дискурсе, так как этот фономен в данном аспекте функционирования относительно мало изучен, как представителями отечественной, так и зарубежной лингвистики. Научная новизна заключается в выдвижении гипотезы о существовании легитимной формы данного гибридного феномена и попытке доказать, что именно в рамках политического дискурса Spanglish расширяет сферу своего влияния. Дипломная работа состоит из двух частей, практической и теоретической, состоит из введения, трех глав и списка использованной литературы. В первой главе производится анализ Spanglish в рамках исторического контекста, в том числе современных, послуживших причиной возникновения и упрочения явления Spanglish, статус Spanglish в США в современном мире. Рассматривается положение феномена «эстадоунидзмо» и его отношение к Spanglish. Во второй главе уделяется внимание теории «языковых контактов» и произведен анализ явления Spanglish в контексте лингвистических исследований. Последняя часть представляет собой практическую часть, где рассмотрен политический дискурс и даются обзоры примеров употребления Spanglish в политическом дискурсе на основе материалов СМИ США. Произведен подробный лингвистический анализ функционирования Spanglish в речи современных политических деятелей США, как латиноамериканского, так и американского происхождения. В результате своего исследования автор приходит к выводу, что Spanglish являющийся сложным межъязыковым гибридом, представляющий собой естественную лингвокультурную среду для двухязычных жителей, в рамках политического дискурс может обладать легитимностью и обладать официальным характером.

Summary The title of this Graduate qualification work for the master’s degree is “Problems of Spanish and English languages contact: Spanglish as political discourse”. The quantity of the thesis is 73 pages of format A4. The purpose of this thesis project is to conduct a study of the linguistic, social and cultural phenomenon of Spanglish, which can be a clear example of the interaction of two distributed languages, Spanish and English. The object of the investigation is to study the functioning of the Spanglish in the political discourse of the Unites States of America. For realize the theoretical study were utilized the following basic methods of the analysis: analytical, method of continuous selection of examples, inductive, method of classifying examples by different criteria, descriptive, method of studying monographic publications or articles, partly is presented the method of contextual historical analysis. The relevance of the topic is the analysis of the current state of Spanglish in political discourse, given that there was currently little research of this phenomenon in this aspect of functioning, the same way by representatives of domestic and foreign linguistics. The scientific novelty consists in the hypothesis of the existence of a legitimate form of this hybrid phenomenon and an attempt to prove that Spanglish precisely in the context of the political discourse expands its sphere of influence. Thesis work consists of two parts, practical and theoretical, and is composed of an introduction, three chapters and a list of the sources. In the first chapter, is analyzed the Spanglish within the historical context, including the modern ones, which caused to appear and consolidate the phenomenon of Spanglish, the Spanglish status in the USA in the modern world. Was consider revising the position of the phenomenon "estadounidismo" and its relation to Spanglish. In the second chapter the attention was given to the theory of "language contacts" and analyzes the phenomenon of Spanglish in the context of linguistic research. The last part is a practical part where political discourse is discussed and reviews different examples of Spanglish use in political discourse based on US media materials. Was made the detailed linguistic analysis of the functioning of Spanglish in the speech of contemporary US political figures, both Hispanic and American origin. As a result of his research, the author comes to the conclusion that Spanglish is a complex cross-language hybrid, which is a natural lingua-cultural environment for the bilingual residents, in the context of the political discourse can have legitimacy and have an official character.
