The prospects of cooperation of the BRICS countries in the Arctic

Abstract

В данной работе рассмотрено современное арктическое сотрудничество, его эволюция и основные акторы. Так как сегодня наблюдается тенденция к появлению неарктических государств в Арктике, формат БРИКС в контексте арктического партнёрства является актуальной темой для анализа. Все страны блока (за исключением России) - это государства - внерегионалы, которые стремятся к закреплению своих позиций в регионе через получение статуса наблюдателя в Арктическом совете. Более того, некоторые из них уже вступили в эту организацию. На данном этапе деятельность стран БРИКС в рамках арктического сотрудничества не исследована, что создаёт широкую платформу для самостоятельного анализа и прогнозирования. Потенциал формата очевиден и несомненен, и Арктика не является исключением.
