Research into factors of attractiveness of redevelopment territories for the transport infrastructure: A case study of St.Petersburg and Brno

Abstract

Вопросы функционального преобразования и редевелопмента заброшенных, зачастую загрязненных земель и помещений, или так называемого "серого" пояса, остаются одними из самых важных в контексте устойчивого развития городов. В этой работе были исследованы территории, требующие функционального преобразования, и возможность их использования для развития транспортной инфраструктуры на примере Санкт-Петербурга(Россия) и Брно(Чехия). Была изучена структура распределения территорий, обремененных накопленным экологическим ущербом, в Санкт-Петербурге(Россия) и Брно(Чехия), а также факторы привлекательности таких территорий для развития городского пространства.

The issues of regeneration and redevelopment of abandoned, derelict and often contaminated lands and premises, or so-called brownfields, remain one of the greatest posibilities for urban sustainable development. Brownfields and the possibilities of their using for transport infrastructure development by the example of St. Petersburg (Russia) and Brno (Czech Republic) were investigated in this scientific study. The spatial structure of the territories encumbered by accumulated environmental damage in St. Petersburg (Russia) and Brno (Czech Republic) was investigated, as well as the factors of attractiveness this territories for urban space development were analyzed.
