EU sanctions against Russia through the lens of Italian and Russian media

Abstract

Работа посвящена выявлению особенностей и специфики итальянских и российских СМИ в рамках дискурса антироссийских санкций. Автор рассмотрел понятие «антироссийские санкции», их цели, а также основные направления, выявил официальную позицию итальянского и российского правительств по вопросу антироссийских санкций. На примере публикаций в авторитетных газетах Италии и России автор исследовал динамику интонации данных статей в период с 2014 по 2017 годы. В ходе анализа публикаций в печатных изданиях Италии и России выявлена и описана их тематическая активность в первые три года после введения санкционных мер. Как показывает результат исследования, динамика статей, посвящённых санкциям против России в выбранный период, имеет в большей степени негативную интонацию, как в итальянских, так и в российских изданиях.

The work is devoted to the features and specifics of the Italian and Russian media within the discourse of anti-Russian sanctions. The Author considered the concept of anti-Russian sanctions, its objectives and main directions, identified the official position of the Italian and Russian governments on the issue of anti-Russian sanctions. For example, publications in authoritative Italian and Russian newspapers the Author examined the dynamics of the tone of these articles in the period from 2014 to 2017. During the analysis of publications in Italian and Russian mass media the Author has revealed and studied its thematic activity within the three years after the imposition of sanctions. As the result of the study, the dynamics of articles dedicated to the sanctions against Russia in the selected period of time for the most part has a negative tone, both in Italian and in Russian editions.
