The United Kingdom as the centre of the English-speaking world and educational tourism

Abstract

В данной работе рассмотрены регионы Соединенного Королевства Великобритании и Северной Ирландии как центра англоязычного мира и обучающего туризма. Подробно изучены основные периоды становления английского языка как уникального явления не только британской, но и мировой культуры. Выявлены основные тенденции спроса и предложения языковых курсов в Великобритании. Проанализирована структура языковых курсов и образовательных программ российских туроператоров. На основании исследованных данных разработана памятка и рекомендации призванные оказать помощь российским туроператорам в создании новых обучающих туров в Великобританию.

In this paper the regions of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland as the center of the English-speaking world and educational tourism were examined. The main periods of the English language formation as a unique phenomenon of the world culture were studied in details. The main supply and demand trends for language courses in the UK were revealed. The structure of language courses and educational programs of Russian tour operators was analyzed. Based on the reseach data, a memo and recommendations have been prepared to assist Russian tour operators in creating new study tours to the UK.
