Members of the Lolita subculture: Their language and images in the context of Japanese popular culture

Abstract

Объектом исследования стали образы представительниц субкультуры лолита и их речь. Предмет исследования - взаимосвязь речи и образов героинь, принадлежащих к этой субкультуре, в контексте теории ролевой речи. Целью данной работы было рассмотрение примеров речи лолит в произведениях и выявление наличия либо отсутствия у героинь общих речевых характеристик. Задачи исследования включали: 1)обзор истории и дальнейших перспектив развития стиля лолита; 2)изложение основных положений теории ролевой речи; 3)поиск художественных произведений, в число персонажей которых входят лолиты. 4)рассмотрение данных произведений и выделение примеров речи лолит; 5)перевод и анализ выбранных примеров; 6)сопоставление полученных результатов и ответ на вопрос о существовании речевых стереотипов, связанных с образом лолиты. Работа содержит 61 страницу, состоит из введения, з глав, заключения, а также ссылается на 27 источников.

This paper concerns the images and language of the members of the Japanese lolita subculture. This research examines the interconnections between the language and images of the fictional members of this subculture in the context of the role language theory. The objectives of this paper included analyzing the examples of lolitas' language in fiction and determining whether or not the characters share any common speech patterns. The goals of this research included: 1)reviewing the history and the potential development of lolita fashion; 2)stating the key points of the role language theory; 3)finding the works of fiction that include lolita characters; 4)examining these works and extracting the examples of lolitas' speech; 5)analyzing and translating the examples; 6)comparing the results and determining whether the linguistic stereotypes associated with lolitas exist. The paper consists of 61 pages, including an introduction, 3 chapters, and a conclusion, referencing 27 sources.
