The specifics of integrated business groups in Russia and supervision over them

Abstract

The article is devoted to the improvement of supervision over the integrated business groups (IBGs) in present-day Russia and presents the outcome of a study involving 50 IBG in the Northwest Region of Russian Federation. The author lists the most popular types of Russian IBG and describes the character of management structures specific to different IBG types. The article also makes an attempt to analyze the degree in which various factors can influence the establishment of an IBS's managerial structure. The author uses the results of the study on the IBG and the foreign experience to suggest guidelines for the development of managerial structures in the Russian IBG.
