Film adaptations of Dostoevsky’s "A gentle creature": Poetics of temporal structures

Abstract

Работа посвящена исследованию поэтики временных структур в рассказе Ф. М. Достоевского «Кроткая» и в четырех его экранизациях. Автор анализирует специфику времени в рассказе и особенности его трансформации на экран. В результате анализа устанавливается, что время рассказа разрушается в каждой из экранизаций. Автор предпринимает попытку описать причины, по которым это происходит.The following work is devoted to the study of the poetics of temporal structures in F.M. Dostoevsky’s "A Gentle Creature," and four screen versions of the story. The author analyzes the intricacies of time in the story, as well as transformational features on the screen. The analysis establishes that the story’s construct of time is destroyed in each of the adaptations. The author attempts to describe the reasons for this.
