Managing creativity in the creative industries: the case of Finland and Russia

Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to explore the idea generation and creativity management in small creative agencies from Helsinki and Saint-Petersburg. In empirical part of the research four cases are developed to enable the insight into the idea generation analysis. Thesis shows that the SECI/ba model supports innovation process in the creative companies both from the research methodological and case companies ́ points of view. The primary contribution is in describing creativity management methods supporting idea generation. From a theoretical point of view, thesis studies how creativity management supports idea generation in small creative companies. As a result, managerial recommendations are generated.
