Abstract
Chemical and mineral composition of two types of ores in Kashtau area - primary sulphide and oxidized ores and technological products - flotation concentration tailings - were studied. The contents of gold and silver in primary sulfide and oxidized ores were determined. Gold content varies from ~1-2 ppm in primary ore to 3.7 ppm in oxidized ore. Silver content decreases in oxidized ores to 0.7 ppm, with 1.2 ppm in primary ores. The main forms of gold in the studied samples were determined: 1) relatively large native gold (ECD = 73.21 ± 15.95 microns), Au: 87.53 ± 1.14 wt % and Ag: 9.47 ± 3.50 wt %; 2) free aggregates of native gold with sulfides and bismuthotellurides (ECD = 73. 21 ± 15.95 microns, Au: 81.11 ± 1.92 wt. % and Ag: 18.89 ± 4.06 wt. %) and 3) fine gold aggregates (first microns in size) in sulfides in association with bismuthotellurides Au = 74.83 ± 2.66 wt. %, Ag = 25.17 ± 4.58 wt. %.
