Abstract
Темой своей дипломной работы я выбрала Роман “Щегол”, который Донна Тартт писала более 10 лет, получив за него Пулитцеровскую премию в 2014 году. “Щегол”- это неторопливый, монументальный и очень кинематографичный роман. История, в которой трагедия выбивает жизнь главного героя Тео из ее привичного русла и навсегда связывает с “Щеглом”, шедевром голландского мастера Фабрициуса. Целью моей работы являлось пластическое решение всего произведения и передача его атмосферы. Я хотела показать трагическую, но полную захватывающих приключений жизнь маленького американского мальчика Теодора Дэккера. Сделать эскизы полные интересных сцен и показать разнообразие локаций.
My graduation project depicted on twelve canvases from the science fiction book by American modern writer Donna Tartt “The Goldfinch”. The idea behind my project was to create a beautiful movie, that I hope, my audience will like, with great scenes, places and lot’s of deep, bright characters. To show life of little American boy Teodor Decker. Tragic, but full of breathtaking adventures and how art save his lost soul. So, this story inspired me to draw my diploma. I choose this book, because I really like the main theme. The power of art, how it affects people. Also, when I read this book, I had a clear idea of how screenplay should look. There are lots of various locations that can be depicted. With the main character we experience an explosion in Metropolitan museum, walking on New York streets, worrying at empty Las-Vegas and Amsterdam. The main artistic concept and design of my work are exaggeration and stylization. I use wide angle vision and close-up views. Also, I use a game with a light and shadow to show atmosphere. I tried to make the pictures various in order to show different aspects of Teo’s life. Some drawings are empty and symmetrical – to show his loneliness and detachment from life.
