Abstract

The article is devoted to the historiography of the problem of the reasons of revolutions from the point of view of “the theory of the 17th century crisis “ and the structural-demographic theory of J. Goldstone, to approaches of researchers and critical positions. The relevance of such research is prompted by a suspense of the complex of problems connected to definition of the reasons of such socio-political phenomenon as revolution that with a new force brings up questions in the run-up to the 100-year anniversary of the Russian revolution.
