Soil diversity in the delta of the Lena river

Abstract

Данная работа посвящена морфологическим, физическим, физико-химическим и биологическим характеристикам почв дельты реки Лены. Исследование основано на данных, собранных в ходе экспедиции "Lena Delta river". Рассматриваются процессы почвообразования, развивающиеся на плакорных территориях Восточной Сибири. Выявлены зонально-географические , эволюционные и геоморфолого-генетические закономерности в географии почв данного района. В работе представлен детальный анализ одной из важнейших функций Арктической зоны - депонирующей способности почв по отношению к углероду и азоту. Большое внимание уделяется характеристикам состава и свойств пойменных почв Арктического бассейна.

This work is devoted to morphological, physical, physicochemical and biological characteristics of the soils of the Lena River delta. It is based on the data collected in the expedition "Lena Delta river". The soil-forming processes which were developed in the upland territories of Eastern Siberia were examined. Zonal-geographical, evolutionary and geomorphologic-genetic trends in the geography of the soils of this region were revealed. The work gives a detailed analysis of one of the most important ecological functions of the Arctic soils that is the depositing capacity of the soil for carbon and nitrogen. Much attention is drawn to the characteristics of the structure and properties of the floodplain soils of the Arctic Basin.
