“Bulldozer Revolution” in Serbia in 2000: the Technologies of the Regime’s Change

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the process of destruction of political regime of Slobodan Milosevic in Serbia in 2000 and the role of technologies of soft power in the “Bulldozer revolution”. The issues of destruction of political regimes and the problems of “color revolutions” are becoming more complicated and urgent nowadays. It is conditioned not only by the fact that the recent events in Ukraine repeat the scenario of “Arab spring” in Northern Africa and more earlier “color revolutions” in postsoviet states. The reason is the fact that the traditional instruments of destruction, known to the world community, are being substituted by the new generation of more delicate instruments based on the soft power strategy. Author argues that Serbian “revolution” of 2000 have become the model for “colored revolutions” and regime change in Georgia, Ukraine, Kirgizstan and, taking to the account new digital technologies, in Tunisia and Egypt also.
